Brian Holly, MS - Principal, Senior Ecologist
Brian Holly has over 20 years of management experience with interdisciplinary environmental and natural resource projects throughout California and other western states, including restoration ecology, wildlife biology, ecosystem management, fire ecology, environmental policy, and renewable energy.
He has extensive experience conducting aquatic and terrestrial biological surveys, focused special-status species studies, and biological assessments. As Principal and a founding owner of Pax, he leads the company’s executive team and service lines, while also serving as program lead for larger multidisciplinary projects, some with budgets exceeding $4M. Mr. Holly has established a long list of state and federal agency relationships and provides California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis, as well as environmental regulatory permitting expertise to clients in all sectors. He also serves as an insightful advisor regarding compliance with state and federal endangered species laws and policies. Demonstrative of his commitment to land conservation and climate change mitigation, Mr. Holly served on the board of directors for the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy for two terms and is Project Director for on-going restoration projects in the Ventura River Watershed. In addition, he is currently an appointed member of the City of Ojai’s Climate Emergency Mobilization Committee. He holds a Master of Environmental Management, Ecosystem Science and Conservation from Duke University and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from University of California, Santa Cruz. In his free time, he enjoys volunteering for local organizations that work to protect the environment and community, as well as playing outside with his wife and two children including hiking, birding, biking, fishing, surfing, and snowboarding.
